Print Artefacts + Audience Feedback

(Final Picture)

This is my advert for my album. The advert was made by making a freeze frame of a  clip from the time line and saving it as a image. I then opened it up with photoshop where i used the Synchro LET font for all the text/ i made the colour of the font green as it stands out in the picture and also made the font sizes different. Next i copied the HMV and KERRANG! logo from google and copied it into the picture. I also ciopied the star from google. But i then copied it five times and merged them together. The colour of the stars were originally gold but i changed them to stand out. I couldnt find the record label logo so i had to make my own logo using tools that were available on Photoshop. Finally i copied the picture of my front album cover and pasted it into my advert. Then i reduced the size of the album cover . The feedback i got from my fellow peers about this advert was is that its appeal to them due to the fact it has elements that they can identify themselves with such as the.

The picture at the bottom was meant to be the original front cover of the album. However, after feedback from my peers i changed it to the picture above. The feedback i got was that the text is on the wrong side and that i shouldnt have the record company logo on the picture. But if i moved the text to the other side than it would have been covering the artists face. So what i decided to do was flip the image and text and the final result is the picture above. The image was taken from the timeline from my production and it is the same font and same colour as the advert.

This picture was meant to be the original back cover for the album. A picture of the artist was taken from the timeline from my production. The font is the same as previous pictures and the colour is also the same. The record company logo was created by me as i couldnt find the logo on the internet. The barcode was copied from google images and pasted onto the picture. I placed the barcode in the bottom right as it is traditionaly found there. The text in the bottom left is the copyright law which i made up . Also the song titles have big gaps between them as i had to fill up most of the space. However after receiving feedback,  a lot of people were saying that there is a lot of dead space in the picture. So what i did was i cut about 40% of the picture from the right. I then moved all the text and barcode towards the left. The final result is shown above.

The picture was taken from the timeline in my media production. The same font is used, but this time it has a bubble effect to it and the colour is different from the normal green colour.

For the draft advert I used the Synchro LET font for all the text. I took a picture of Gary Jules from the internet and copied it onto the black background. Then I made the picture black and white as it was originally in colour. I also changed the shade of red for the text as I goes from a lighter red to a darker red. The HMV logo was taken from the internet and copied into the advert. However the original colour was pink but I changed it to red to make it fit in with the rest of the text. Later I copied a star from the internet which I then duplicated and merged together to make them five stars. Finally I took the THE TIMES logo from the internet and changed it to white to make it stand out more.

The draft front cover is very simple where I took a picture of coloured buildings from the internet and placed it over a black background. I changed the colour of the buildings a bit as they were more colourful than that. Next I took a picture of Gary Jules from the internet and cut everything around till I was left with only half his body. Later I reduced the occupancy of the picture to give it the ghost effect and then placed it over the buildings. I used the Synchro LET font for the title of the album front cover. This font will be used for all my artefacts.

This is a draft back cover for the album. The cover is very simple and very dark as this goes well with the song as it a sad and melancholy song, and these colours are associated with this. What I did with this is I got a picture from the internet of cars being sped up, which gives it the effect you can see in the cover. I then changed the colour of the picture as it was first all colourful. However, I put the picture in from of a black background, which made the picture come out dark. I then put a luminescent effect on it. Later I took a picture of Gary Jules from the internet and deleted everything in the picture except him using the eraser tool. I then copied the picture onto the background and placed the picture in the bottom right corner. Later I used the Synchro LET font for the song names. Finally I copied the barcode from the internet and put it in the bottom left corner of the back cover.
